Amano
The classic. Amano was the first artisan bakery that really made me realise how beautiful bread is and made me want to understand what makes it all so different
amano has beautiful displays especially of the beautiful breads they make. I actually got some starter from them as well which is the base to the starter I’ve been feeding for the past year. I’ve also tried their truffle croissants and dinner menu is actually quite good. I’m not too big on buying pastas as they’re always quite expensive but their protein mains have all been good, especially the lamb. their strawberry cheesecake croissant made me change my mind about marzipan and i wait for the day that i can have it again..
The service at the bakery can be a bit on off especially when busy. Most of the time they’re still smiling haha. Wish they would just give you a paper bag to easily hold everything when you buy more than two things. Their coffees aren’t something I would necessarily go back for, there’s quite a few options that I would rather stop by like eightthirty’s filter coffees but they’re not horrid. If you don’t have time to get a coffee elsewhere, Amano will still get you through the day :P Or maybe the pastries themselves would - I guess I’d rather buy another pastry than get that coffee
this was taken a while ago, probably sometime early 2019
