Flour Mill Cafe

Flour Mill is like the girl next door, she’s wholesome, the one you know you’ve always wanted to end up with and will treat ya right. She’s also a major sweetheart.

Decked out with aesthetic minimalist pink and white hues, they’ve changed this old flour mill spot into a paradise for hipsters and pram pushing, lulu lemon wearing couples of Epsom. It’s around the corner of Manukau Rd and Great South Road so is in it’s own Newmarket/Epsom/Greenlane cross section and is on a street with a decent amount of street parking or there’s another street parallel that you can find parking on as well.

Coffee. Of course is on the menu. A good coffee, nothing to rave about but not bad, would pay for another. My usual order is a soy cappuccino but nowadays a cold brew or filter/batch brew is something I crave. Until I try one of theirs, which I hopefully will soon I’m not sure if this is a place more about aesthetic than good coffee/food.

A selection of pastries and some in house hot food can be found as well. I alway opt for a croissant but since I’m not sure if they make it themselves it’s not a necessary review for them on it. It was a good croissant though mm.. I definitely am happy that they’re serving this quality of pastry

The service was good, although our 6/9 table number caused some problems, it was a bit busy and this was at a time where they were fairly new. I never mind that, I mean hospo is tough and as long as you’re trying to sort it and have a good attitude I think that’s what makes it a great local that people will go back to and want to support.
