When you’ve got good bakers, you really need to keep them.
I follow Luke @lfrewnz who was a baker at Miann - he’s now Head Baker @thearealbreadproject and damn do these pastries do him justice. Miann has a name of its own of course but when Luke was there, it was even more of reason to go!
The layers were so light and melt in your mouth . I find some aftertaste with certain croissants (Amanos also have these - not that it would stop me from eating it though) but not with these.
The danish was light but dense and really just enough for one but we managed to share the three we had.
The ham and cheese croissant, toasted - always toasted and so damn good (I prefer the one the Candy Shop brings in though). That was a struggle to finish but good. So good. I don’t even normally like ham.. but this .. just yes.
The lemon cube croissant was delicious ! A bit of tart acidity to cut through the sweetness was definitely needed and maybe could have been a bit less sweet. Toasted meringue is good with anything really so it always adds points for me
