Making Mochi Bunnys for Lunar New Year

Every year I make something that looks like the current Zodiac based on the Lunar New Year. 2023 is the year of the rabbit, so I decided to make some delicious mochi filled with toasted sesame as a tribute to the Chinese dessert ‘tangyuan’ or ‘tong yoon’ that is eaten during Lunar New Year (New Moon) or at during the Lantern Festival or when it is the first Full Moon of the new year.

I added in matcha to these as it was content for Thea and a delicious addition to sesame.

Watch how to make these cute mochi bunnies. They’re the perfect thing to make with children, especially if you are trying to get them interested in cooking.
